Rebuilding Trust Through Team-Building: A Sunounou Experience

Recently, I led a two-hour team-building session with the higher management of a global airline.
While many of these managers had received training on leading their teams, they often face
challenges in managing relationships with peers or superiors. That’s where the trust fall
exercise—adapted with my personal touch—came into play. One of the managers from Etihad shared, "The trust fall was the most impactful exercise. It felt
meaningful." Hearing this made my heart bloom, as it affirmed what I always believed—trust goes
beyond falling and catching. It’s about the human touch, quite literally. Why does the trust fall work so well? Science shows that physical touch fosters connection. Dr.
Dacher Keltner, a psychologist from UC Berkeley, says, “Touch is the fundamental language of
connection.” When we touch, we release oxytocin, a hormone that builds trust and reduces stress.
This is why exercises like the trust fall do more than entertain—they create lasting bonds.
At Sunounou, my goal is not just to provide fun activities, but to create lasting psychological effects
that improve team dynamics. Trust-building, connection, and collaboration—these are the elements
that transform teams long after the session ends.
